Legal Aid and Consultancy Center (LACC) is a non-profit organization, registered in 1993 with the Lalitpur District Administration Office under Nepal’s Association Registration Act of 1977. Prof. Dr. Shanta Thapalia founded it in 1987 with the intention of promoting and protecting the rights and interests of women and children in Nepal, and commenced its social initiatives as early as 1987.

LACC is committed to fostering a just and equitable society by promoting rule of law and safeguarding the rights of marginalized groups, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and sexual and gender minorities.
