Project Name : Legal Aid and Paralegal Service

उदेश्यहरु

Project Description

The Legal Aid and Paralegal Service project is implemented by the Legal Aid and Consultancy Center (LACC) to ensure access to justice for marginalized and vulnerable communities, especially women, children, and other disadvantaged groups in Nepal.

This project provides free and affordable legal aid services, including legal counseling, representation in court, and alternative dispute resolution. It supports those who are unable to afford legal services, helping them understand and exercise their legal rights and seek remedies through formal and informal justice systems.

A key component of the project is the deployment and training of paralegal workers at the community level. These paralegals serve as vital links between communities and formal legal institutions. They help people identify legal problems, provide basic legal information, facilitate mediation, and support victims of violence and discrimination in navigating the justice system.

The project also focuses on legal awareness and empowerment. It conducts community outreach programs, workshops, and training sessions to educate people—particularly women and marginalized groups—about their legal rights, procedures for seeking legal remedies, and protections against violence, discrimination, and exploitation.

Through this initiative, LACC works to reduce barriers to justice, promote rule of law, prevent rights violations, and strengthen local capacity to resolve disputes peacefully and fairly. By combining professional legal aid with grassroots-level paralegal services, the project aims to build a more equitable and accessible justice system for all.
