ACCESS TO JUSTICE

1. Free Legal Aid

LACC provides comprehensive free legal aid services to women belonging from marginalized groups. The service includes legal counselling and court representation through a team of senior advocates, legal aid officers, paralegals and young lawyers. 

Strengthen Referral System : LACC collaborates with various justice sector institutions, government agencies, justice actors, service providers and likeminded civil society organizations to strengthen the referral system. 

2. Capacity Building

LACC is dedicated to enhancing access to justice by building the capacity of key justice actors—ensuring they are equipped with the tools and knowledge to deliver gender-responsive and inclusive legal services at the local level.

Our core initiatives include:

  • 🎓 Clinical Legal Education

  • Practical, experience-based training programs for lawyers and young law graduates to strengthen their legal skills and commitment to social justice.

  • 📚 Resource Development & Dissemination
    Creation and distribution of legal materials, toolkits, and guides tailored for both formal and informal justice actors and duty bearers, helping them adopt inclusive, rights-based approaches in their daily practice.

Through these initiatives, LACC empowers justice actors to better serve women, youth, and marginalized groups, and to foster a more equitable and accessible justice system at the grassroots level.

3. Legal Awareness and Outreach

LACC is committed to raising awareness and empowering women and children from marginalized communities through creative and accessible outreach programs.

Our community awareness initiatives include:

  • Mobile Legal  Camps
    Bringing legal information and services directly to underserved communities, ensuring timely support and guidance at the grassroots level.

  • 🎨 Vehicle Paintings & Public Art
    Using art as a powerful tool for social messaging—spreading awareness on legal rights, gender equality, and justice through visually engaging mobile campaigns.

  • 🏫 School Awareness Programs
    Educating young minds on rights, safety, and equality to build a more informed and just future generation.

Through these dynamic outreach efforts, LACC ensures that critical legal knowledge reaches those who need it most—empowering individuals to claim their rights and seek justice with confidence.

 

4. Community Empowerment & services

LACC believes that true justice begins at the community level. Through our Community Empowerment & Support Services, we work to strengthen the capacity of both formal and informal justice actors, ensuring they can respond effectively and sensitively to the needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups.

Our community-based initiatives include:

    Building strong partnerships among justice actors, service providers, and community leaders to foster a unified approach to justice.

    Creating efficient and survivor-centered referral pathways that connect individuals to the support they need—quickly and safely.

    Providing emotional and psychological support to survivors and vulnerable individuals through trained counselors.

    Engaging local stakeholders, youth groups, and women’s networks to raise awareness, shift harmful norms, and promote gender equality from the ground up.

These services help create a more responsive and empathetic justice environment—one that listens, protects, and empowers at every level.

5. Advocacy and Lobbying

LACC leads strategic advocacy and lobbying efforts to influence systems, laws, and policies that directly impact women, youth, and marginalized communities. By working closely with formal and informal justice actors and duty bearers, we aim to drive systemic change and ensure inclusive and equitable access to justice at the local level.

Our key advocacy initiatives include:

    Using constitutional tools to advocate for systemic reforms and uphold the rights of vulnerable groups through judicial action.

6. Research and Studies

LACC also conducts research and studies in the areas of access to justice, human rights, good governance, women empowerment, climate justice and transitional justice.
